Dodge Challenger ‘170’ breaks its own record

The Dodge Challenger has been crowned the muscle car of all muscle cars for quite some time now. The competition just doesn’t seem to be able to match the magic of the American car brand. The only one who can outdo Dodge is Dodge itself.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is a production-ready muscle car at its fastest

They do this in the form of the Demon Dodge Challenger SRT. Until now, the Dodge Challenger Demon has been the Hellcat to beat, and the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon ‘170’ version has done just that. The 170 in the title refers to the C170crate engine which is the basis of this wonderful car. Where the previous Demon also had a very powerful version with 818 horsepower, the Demon 170 has no less than 1,025 hp. In comparison: average A Formula 1 car has about 1,000 hp.

Legal ripping on the road

And to think that this car is legally allowed on the road. Speeding down the A2 didn’t sound very appealing. Okay, okay, just kidding of course. But still, with so much horsepower, 1,281 Nm and 96 k/m per hour in 1.66 seconds, you can’t resist in this Dodge Challenger. Moreover, it can reach the quarter mile, or 402 meters, in less than 9 seconds. This achievement is not only available with the new crate engine, but Dodge has also improved components on the chassis, suspension and bodywork. As you’d expect with an upgraded car, the 170 version is also lighter than its predecessor. And to take your experience to the next level, every ‘170’ comes with a ‘reduction kit’.

Well, if everything sounds good, it will also cost less. That’s right, because in total you pay around 90,000 euros for the ‘170’. A lot of money, but hey, then you have something. You will not easily meet this car on the provincial road: a total of only 3,330 copies will be delivered.
