In a devastating accident northwest of the Twin Cities, two Dodge County citizens were badly injured.
The incident occurred at the intersection of two rural roads in the area, when a minivan and a pickup truck collided. The driver of the minivan, a 27-year-old female, and the driver of the pickup truck, a 70-year-old male, were both transported to a nearby medical center with serious injuries.
The minivan driver sustained multiple broken bones and lacerations, as well as internal injuries, and is currently being treated in the intensive care unit. The pickup truck driver suffered a fractured ribcage, a fractured arm, and a fractured leg, and is expected to remain in the hospital for several days.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, though it appears that the minivan driver may have failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection. Authorities are urging all drivers to exercise caution while driving in the area.
The tragic accident serves as a reminder to all motorists of the importance of exercising caution while behind the wheel. It is hoped that the two Dodge County citizens involved in the crash will make a full recovery.
