Chrysler Halcyon concept: the first car was revealed at the Great STLA

On Tuesday, Chrysler unveiled its vision of future products with an innovative car called Chrysler Halcyon, in an attempt to regain relevance in the car market, characterized by a lack of new product launches. The concept car, named “Halcyon,” represents an attractive, forward-looking sports car designed to incorporate emerging technologies such as autonomous driving, new battery materials and the ability to charge electric vehicles. It presents the Chrysler logo updated and other design features that company officials say will carry over to production vehicles.

Chrysler Halcyon has Artificial Intelligence. According to what was announced by the car manufacturer, this large concept car is equipped with a 4th degree of freedom of driving, characterized by the fact that the steering wheel and pedals can be completely removed, allowing the driver to be only a passenger during the trip. Up front is a large transparent screen that runs from pillar to pillar, with a full-screen display integrated to provide information to passengers, whether they’re driving or not. Finally, a lithium-sulfur battery was used to power the car, the capacity of which was not mentioned.

Chrysler describes the new Chrysler Halcyon as a concept that makes extensive use of artificial intelligence to deliver a highly immersive driving experience. In this vision, the car has the ability to “prepare” itself for the trip, taking into account a series of factors from the weather to the daily calendar, which are directly linked to the car.

However, consumers will have to wait before buying a new Chrysler with these technologies or any features that might recall the concept car. After the cessation of sedan production Chrysler 300 last year, the only model offered by the brand is a minivan Chrysler Pacifica, is also available in a hybrid version of the plugin.
