VAL-D’OR, Quebec, Jan. 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ECR) (“Cartier”) announces the results of drilling, carried out under the Nordeau Ouest deposit, which is located on the Cadillac East property within the Chimo Mine gold system (FIGURE) These two related properties, whose interests are 100% owned by Cartier, are located 45 kilometers east of the Val-d’Or mining camp.
The results obtained from the laboratory so far, for the current drilling program in the Nordeau Ouest deposit area, are as follows.
- Inside of Eastern part of Nordeau Ouest gite (Gold Belt 5NE2)wells yielded values of 4.4 g/t Or more than 6.5 m is included in 2.3 g/t Or more than 23.0 m and values of 2.1 g/t Or more than 14.0 m (FIGURE)
- Inside of West Nordeau Ouest gite (Golden Belt 5NE1)wells yielded values of 6.3 g/t Or more than 1.0 m is included in 2.4 g/t Or more than 5.6 m (FIGURE)
- Detailed results are presented in the table below.
The order of magnitude of the result confirms the continuation of mining under the Nordeau Ouest reservoir, with the intention of considering its exploration to define the resources there at the same depth as the Chimo Mine and Chimo East Mine sectors (FIGURE) The expansion of the Nordeau Ouest lodge is an important sector of interest to increase the resources of the project, commented Philippe Cloutier, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Note that the Chimo Mine Project currently consists of 29 gold zones, located within 19 gold formations, mined over a length of 3.7 km by 1.6 km.FIGURE) where the most recent mineral resource estimate as of 22 August 2022* reports:
- 7 128,000 tonnes at an average grade of 3.14 g/t Or for a total of 720,000 ounces of gold in the resource category indicated by;
- 18 475,000 tonnes at an average grade of 2.75 g/t Or for a total of 1,633,000 ounces of gold in the estimated resource category.

The length of the mineral junction is expressed as a length measured along the core of the drill. The estimated true thickness of the mineralized junction is approximately 65 to 85% of the measured length.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Cartier includes in the batches of samples sent to the laboratory, 5% of the number of samples in the form of approved standards and the other 5% in the form of sterile samples to ensure quality control. The samples are analyzed in the Techni-Lab (Actlabs) laboratory, located in Ste-Germaine-Boul, Quebec, Canada. Samples of 35 kg are crushed by the laboratory until 90% passes a mesh of 10mesh (2.00 mm) then 500 g of the sample is crushed until 90% passes a mesh of 200mesh (0.07 mm). A 50g sample is analyzed by pyroanalysis and studied by atomic absorption. Samples with results? 1.0 g/t and <10.0 g/t are analyzed a second time by pyrolysis and read by atomic absorption. Results greater than or equal to 10.0 g/t Au are analyzed by fire tests and gravimetric readings. For samples containing visible gold, 500g of stones are analyzed using the 'Metallic Sieve?'
