DS 7 after a facelift – the French SUV with the most powerful drive in history

In the new DS7, instead of the inscription “Crossback” on the rear hatch, “DS Automobiles” will appear. This is not the only change that the French luxury SUV has undergone. Five years after the PREMIERE, the French introduced subtle cosmetics and a few technical innovations – the car became more powerful and even more comfortable.

In terms of styling, the DS7 model turned out to be completely restrained. Despite the passage of time, the car still looks very clean, so it is not surprising that the revolutionary changes were preserved. At the front, the car can be identified by a changed belt and a modified grill with new lights. Engineers used new, smaller Pixel Led Vision 3.0 headlights and Daytime Running Lights (33 diodes). The lights have also been redesigned at the back. On the other hand, a keen eye will notice new rim designs – 19 inches as standard in almost all ranges, and 21 inches are available in the most powerful storage version.

The interior has a new upholstery design (Nappa leather without visible seams and joints in two color versions: pearl and black) and the seats are filled with more durable, high-density foam. It is important that the French opposed the practice of leaving skins. DS says that in the new DS 7 you can order leather from cows raised for meat and grazed on farms without wire fences.

The new DS 7 also features a next-generation multimedia device with a 12-inch screen, more convenient controls, improved graphics and improved personalization options ). There are also known from the previous cameras: for scanning the road surface (to control the operation of the suspension) and two lenses to examine the driver and his environment (to examine fatigue based on eyes, eyelids and facial movements).

DS7 – diesel is not left

Changes also included vehicle systems. We are glad that despite the style, the DS still offers a valuable diesel engine from the BlueHDi family – it is a 1.5-liter unit with a power of 130 HP (outside Europe also gasoline engines with a power of 130 HP, 215 HP and 225 HP) . Those who do not have enough can choose hybrid versions that are already known with a power of 225 HP and 300 HP. But that is not the end.

The new DS 7 has a more powerful hybrid version. It is the DS 7 E-Tense 4×4 360 after DS Performance tuning, which has gained not only more power, but also a battery with a capacity of 14.2 kWh (until now, a 13.2 kWh battery was used in the DS 7 Crossback). The French promise a range of up to 81 kilometers on electricity and a charging time of up to 2 hours (7.4 kW charger).

The new DS7 will be available to order from July (initially in France and later in other countries). The first units will appear in showrooms only in September. The car is covered by the Delivery Valet service, which means that it will be delivered to the buyer at the indicated address. There was also a limited edition La Premiere, available only with a more powerful drive, very rich equipment and one of six body colors.
