The key here is black, which covers practically all aspects of chrome so far. We are talking about grills, decorative pieces, door frames or railings. In addition, we get dedicated rims. Not much, but it was enough for the release to stand out from the rest.

The lights remain the stars of this bodywork. Front lights that work with moving LED crystals and rear lenses with a three-dimensional effect are unique patents. So far, no other producer has created such a light theater. Not so much that it has to be liked.

To gain customer acceptance and build an image, a new manufacturer must try more than established products. The materials show this. Most of the features have a very nice smooth texture. In addition, there are carefully selected decorations, covered leather and many details that create a unique whole.

Just look at the buttons to see that each element has its own individual look. There are also neat seams around the cabin. Last of all is the rotating clock, which is revealed when you use the starter. Small displays are also important – especially in the premium class.

The clocks are digital. As befits the DS, they have unique patterns that are distinctly different from standard analog dials. Reading is at a good level. Next to it is a touch screen on which many additional functions of the car are based. The device works quickly and does not catch. It is a pity that there is no place for an independent climate panel. It would be easier. It is good that there are function buttons and a potentiometer from the volume control.

Ergonomics? French. It doesn’t have to mean big mistakes. It is slightly different than, for example, in the case of German competitors, which does not mean that it is worse. You can quickly get used to the arrangement of all solutions (for example, controlling the shafts from the central tunnel). Key functions are just around the corner so you can’t wait.

Armchairs are top class. They are big and very comfortable, and they look beautiful. In addition, it provides various adjustments that should reach different body shapes. There is no problem in choosing the right position.
It is also very good in the second row. The adjustable angle of the backrest is a big plus. Passengers do not feel comfortable sitting in the seats. It is a complete sofa with a long seat and comfortable headboards. This is how it should be.

There are 555 liters of free space under the wide opening lid with lights. The trunk is well finished, it has two floors, two additional niches, hooks, buttons and fastening rods on the sides that allow quick and easy folding of the back rows of the second row. It is important to note that they are divided in a ratio of 60:40. The low loading sill also contributes to practicality.

Technology

The heart of the system is a gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters. It is supplemented by electric units, thanks to which the total capacity is 300 horses and 520 Newton meters. Power transmission to the wheels is handled by an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

In this configuration, you can count on excellent performance. Sprint to a hundred takes 5.9 seconds, and the top speed is 220 km / h. What more could you want? Average fuel consumption. However, this can be calculated while the battery is being charged.

Specifically, the battery. It has a capacity of 13.2 kWh and allows to reach about 45 km in real conditions. If we have energy in it, the first 100 kilometers can be covered using 4-5 liters. After discharge, you should consider the result of 9.5 liters. It is worth adding here that the payment can be made through a home socket, a wall box and a special terminal.

Driving experience

Does the style and build quality match the drivability? There is no doubt that the engineers tried to achieve a unique effect also in terms of handling. And if one expects comfort, he will surely be satisfied. The DS 7 Crossback takes balance, thanks to the active suspension. In addition, it separates the driver and passengers from the environment thanks to the many and effective soundproofing mats. You can’t feel the speed in this car.

The driving style is very well balanced with the weight of the car, which is more noticeable at high speeds than on your own body. And in this case it is a benefit. The combustion engine starts with almost no vibrations. Driving around the city, however, may not have anything to do, because the problem is made by “electricity” and a large battery.

The eight-speed gearbox should also be mentioned here. Jerks occur very rarely and, if already, when reducing and usually “cold”. Its presence ensures better acceleration comfort. Possible Japanese competitors with stepless automatic machines do not offer the same good conditions. Even online gears will not help the user when he hears a buzzing and feels the “drag” of the gear.

Through the eyes of an entrepreneur

The basic version of this model costs PLN 192 700. Interestingly, under the hood we find a 130 hp diesel bus with automatic transmission and front axle drive. How much are we going to pay for the high hybrid? About 263,000 zlotys. There is, however, a little surprise. The car has undergone a facelift and lost the inscription “Crossback”. So we are dealing with a more modern version.

The French brand’s flagship SUV definitely deserves attention. It is a very refined car that offers good performance in the hybrid version. However, we recommend this variant for those who often drive short distances and have a place to charge the battery. For others, conventional drive systems, which are relatively inexpensive, will suffice.
