DS Automobiles, the first brand of Stellantis, occupies a special place in the group. Built from the ground up in 2014, it found great success with the DS 7 Crossback. This SUV became the development engine for subsequent models. And today, Béatrice Foucher, head of the brand, visited Warsaw. He talked about the development plans and the intention to further increase the share in the payment section.
Smiling, open, willing to discuss – the meeting with Béatrice Foucher was an opportunity for an interesting conversation about premium cars. DS Automobiles has ambitious plans, it wants to grow and it wants to stand out, which is why these cars are for those who need something other than the familiar and boring German or Japanese brands.
The DS 7 and DS 4 models will play an important role in the company’s strategy, occupying an important place in the DS portfolio. The DS Automobiles brand appeared on the market at a very good time. In Europe, interest in premium brands is growing and DS cars are catching fire due to their unique design and original interiors with high-quality materials such as leather and polished steel. DS Automobiles is the epitome of French craftsmanship and driving comfort.
Currently, the brand’s offering includes four models: DS 9 centralt limousine, DS 7 SUV, DS 4 compact luxury and DS city. 3. Larger cars can be equipped with hybrid drives with up to 360 hp 4×4 combined, while the DS 3 is available in both combustion and hybrid versions. In Poland, DS Automobiles is constantly expanding its sales network. It is currently working nine salons, located in Kraków, Warsaw, Katowice, Wrocław, Poznań, Łódź and Tri-City. Others to come include: in Szczecin and in the first quarter of 2023, Samar reports, 199 DS Automobiles cars were sold in Poland. They can be seen more often in our streets – the second-hand market is also developing slowly. The DS 7 Crossback Facebook group, which already has almost 5,000 members, is also very popular.
What’s in the plans? First of all, two new electric models: the 100% electric DS 4 will follow next year, followed by a new mid-size car with a range of 700 km and a power car. By 2028, we will have hybrid drives and the decision to move away from internal combustion engines in favor of electric vehicles will be postponed for now.
Béatrice Foucher is the head of the DS brand. He was appointed to the Executive Team at Stellantis in January 2021. He has built extensive and deep knowledge in the automotive industry with 30 years of experience in two major automotive groups, in quality departments, product planning, software, HR talent development and overall brand development. He joined Stellantis from the Renault group. In 2019, he joined PSA as Vice President of Human Resources and was later appointed CEO of DS Automobiles and a member of the Global Executive Committee.
