There will also be a special exhibition at “Retro Classics Bavaria” to celebrate 40 years of the DTM. In addition to the historic cars, former stars such as Manuel Reuter and Volker Strycek will also be present.
“Retro Classics Bavaria” describes itself as a “trade show for motoring culture” and takes place over three days in Nuremberg from December 6 to 8 at the trade fair near the Norisring area. At this meeting of dealers, collectors and fans there will also be a special exhibition “40 years of DTM”. More than 25 DTM cars, including five championship race cars, will be presented and are intended to give touring car racing fans their money’s worth.
The organizers of this special show have invited some former racing drivers to a discussion on Saturday at lunch: Volker Strycek (first champion in 1984), Manuel Reuter (DTM/ITC champion in 1996) and Maximilian Götz, who won the overall title in the last race in 2021 – by way of Nuremberg. Local private drivers Gerhard Müller and Kurt König from Schwabach will also be there and tell stories of their time. Konrad Schmidt (Schmidt Motorsport), who managed to unite his development and technology department, became the DTM champion in 1990 with Audi V8 and driver Hans-Joachim Stuck and completes the round with his old perspective as team manager.
This special screening was facilitated by trade show partners Uwe Wießmath from Altmühltal Classic Sprint (Schwabach), Klaus Ziegler (Nuremberg) and Peter Levay (Levay Film Production, Fürth), who all brought their contacts to the event.
The opening hours of Retro Classics Bavaria are from 10 am to 6 pm. Map in: https://www.messe-ticket.de/AFAG/retroclassicsbavaria2024
