Range Rover: electric is becoming more transparent

Range Rover: electric is becoming more transparent

The English manufacturer has published the first pictures of its electric flagship taken in Sweden during its winter tests. Photos that we can finally see the elegant pachyderm without hiding at all! And it appears that it displays a style that is identical in every way to that of its petrol-powered twin. In addition to its appearance, these photos also prove that the British manufacturer’s engineers did not pull any punches, but of course they also had a lot of fun testing the capabilities of their first electric SUV.

Is it an electric motor for each wheel of the Range Rover?

So ” Range Rover’s ability to off-road remains unprivalized », the English manufacturer has developed a completely new traction control system for the electric variant. The brand notes that ” The Range Rover Electric distributes wheel slip control directly to each electric control unit, reducing response time from nearly 100 milliseconds to just 1 millisecond. This system works in harmony with the stability and chassis control systems to provide a more refined ride “. Could this mean that the electric variant of the Range Rover has one motor per wheel as some kind of star-studded electric pointer in the future? It is unlikely considering the shows already announced by the manufacturer at the end of 2023.

High performance!

Land Rover clearly wants to set the bar (very) high with this new 100% electric flagship. As a bonus to this new traction control system, Her Majesty’s manufacturer had already announced that its Range Rover Electric would be able to cross 85 cm deep ditches. As for its 800 V MLA design, it should be impressive when charging as time to give. Land Rover has already announced that the battery-powered Range will be as efficient as the version with a 4.4-litre, 615 hp V8 capable of reaching 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds! Now we wait, not without some patience, for its official presentation to know for sure.
