Chevrolet Silverado EV among 80 test vehicles at SVEM


For its 7th edition to be held at the Olympic Stadium from Friday to Sunday, the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show (SVEM) will present visitors with around 70 electric models representing 23 car brands, whether 100% electric or hybrid or hybrids supplement.

To this must be added no less than 80 cars available for road tests. In any case, these are record numbers for the event.

Early and new versions

Among the headlines of SVEM this year, we find in particular Dodge Charger electric concept,, Hyundai IONIQ 5 N,, Fiat 500e,, Tesla model 3 modern, Volkswagen ID. Let’s get back to the Tesla Model 3, as its popularity in the state will only increase with the various changes it has benefited from. Let’s mention its updated design, its wider trunk and its improved assembly quality. Added to this is a slightly enlarged central screen (15.4 inches) and a second 8-inch monitor for rear-seat passengers. In addition, Tesla has improved sound insulation and the quality of materials in the cabin.

The Silverado EV was tested for the first time

Chevrolet’s electric pickup truck is preparing to enter the Canadian market towards the end of the summer to compete with the Ford F-150 Electric. In SVEM, it will even be possible to test the Silverado EV, more precisely in the WT (Work Truck) version. As we recently learned, the standard 3WT model will be offered in Canada starting at $78,025 including various costs.

Based on GM’s Ultium electric architecture, the Silverado EV WT has a 200 kWh battery and offers an exceptional range of up to 724 km. It can be plugged into a 350 kW charging station and recover a distance of 160 km in just 10 minutes, according to and the manufacturer. In terms of performance, we’re talking about 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, with a 10,000-pound towing capacity.

Let’s not forget the four-wheel steering system, which helps in particular to reduce the turning radius and to negotiate sharp turns, for example when parking. To try in SVEM!

During the three days of the event, visitors will be able to see, test, analyze and compare new products as well as the latest technological innovations in electric mobility.
