Musk made the announcement via Twitter. The CEO of Tesla wants to ensure that the entire Steam library will be available in the company’s cars for a long time. It is already possible to play old games on the Tesla tablet. These include classics such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Asteroids.

Major titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 should also be playable in the latest Tesla Model X and Model S, according to Musk. These examples are equipment and AMD Ryzen apu with RDNA 2 GPU.

Musk also confirmed in a cryptic reply to his tweet that the Cyberpunk 2077 game will be available in the upcoming Tesla Cybertruck. The businessman called it a ‘good game’.

The game function is disabled while driving

Tesla’s gaming feature came under fire last year after it emerged that around 580,000 cars could play games while driving. The activity, Passenger Play, was intended for passengers but posed a risk to drivers, according to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The company responded to the criticism by rolling out a software update that disables Passenger Play when the car is in motion.

Tesla wants to expand

Elon Musk’s company has been focusing more and more on game performance in recent years. The automaker has been developing its own video game platform, the Tesla Arcade.

According to Musk, it is important that cars have enough entertainment options. He strongly believes that Tesla will soon be able to offer fully autonomous technology, giving owners more time to play sports.
