Hit-and-run in Deggingen: a truck dragging a parked Peugeot

Around 8:45 am on Monday (April 15), a truck with a trailer turned right from Degginger Bahnhofstrasse onto the Am Park road, Ulm police headquarters reported in a press release. The semi-trailer may have swerved too much and hit a parked Peugeot. A witness saw how the semi-trailer dragged the car for several meters before the truck driver noticed the accident and stopped.

The unidentified driver got out and assessed the damage. But then he got back behind the wheel and drove away without bothering to repair the damage.

Around 3000 euros in damage

The witness was unable to read the full license plate number of the speeding truck, the press release continued. He only saw the initials RW and noted the address of the company. He reported it to the Geislingen police. The patrol police are now inspecting the company in the district of Rottweil and are looking for the person suspected of causing the accident.

The Peugeot was heavily damaged on the left side of the car. The trailer may have been damaged on the left rear side. The police estimate the damage to the car to be around 3,000 euros. The investigation into the driver involved is ongoing.
