Esteban Ocon (8th): “I felt like a winner” / Formula 1

After his accident in the third round of Miami GP practice, Esteban Ocon was unable to participate in the qualification. The race, however, was successful, as the Alpine pilot fought from last to eighth place.

Esteban Ocon started the Miami GP with a very difficult situation: The Frenchman from the Alpine factory team had to start from last place on the grid because he could not participate in the final practice session. This was due to a serious accident during the third period of practice, which prevented his company’s car from being repaired in time.

Even though he benefited from the fact that Aston Martin drivers were forced to start out of the pit due to stress and fuel temperature, he showed a strong recovery in the fifth season of the season, which ended only in 8th place. He was physically injured, as he later explained on “F1 TV”.

“I’m done,” the Frenchman exclaimed. “Physically, I was only 50 percent fit, and by the tenth round I was already thinking it would be a long race. 51g were weighed in the crash on Saturday, and everything was broken, chassis, seat, pedantry and steering wheel, “he listed.

“Everything went well and the youngsters on the team did a good job at night and put a nice car on my wheels, which I felt very comfortable with,” praised Ocon.

“In that sense, the eighth place looked like a victory because everything went well. The strategy was right, as well as the choice of tires and the motion was very sharp on the hard tires for a long time. That was a good job from my boys, who I now owe something to, “said the 25-year-old.
