St. Kilian Distillers, probably Germany’s most experimental whiskey distillery, invites you to a wonderful whiskey event: St. Kilian GENESIS Online Whiskey Tasting. On Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 7:00 pm, tasting participants will immerse themselves in the fascinating history of the brewery and relive the founding days of this amazing brewery. Total of top five creations tasted, which gives an impression of the craftsmanship and passion that characterizes every drop of St. Kilian’s whiskey.

A recap of a fun evening and a milestone in the brewery’s history remains the first 8-year whiskey of St. Kilian Single Malt, which is presented as part of the exclusive X series.

In addition, two unique premium smokeless cask bottles will be presented, which will pay tribute to the distinguished Irish visitor David F. Hynes: a Cask Single “Irish Style” too “David’s Choice” – single malt whiskey from a fresh chestnut barrel. The two single-cask bottlings, made with Scottish peat malt from the Highlands, emphasize the diversity of St. Kilian and cause to enjoy smoky whiskeys.

The end of the crown is a good LIQUEUR of St. Kilian with lovely notes of vanilla, cinnamon and coconut and is made from single malt whisky.

Early Days – Ketterer Wash X St. Kilian – Unfilled (limited to 1,000 bottles):

The oldest single malt whiskey from Rüdenau to date was produced with a distillate from the Pforzheim Ketterer family brewery, where St. Kilian Master Distiller & Blender Mario Rudolf previously worked as a brewer. This smokeless creation was originally stored in ex-bourbon barrels and transferred to ex-Sauternes barrels and small ex-bourbon barrels from Garrison Brothers for further maturation. Complex aromas of honey, delicate vanilla and butterscotch along with sweet fruit and fine spice notes testify to the full effect.

Scent: An attractive bouquet of sun-ripened grapes, white peaches, juicy pears and pineapple flavors unfolds in harmony with sweet butterscotch and delicate vanilla, accompanied by a hint of coconut and a brief note of oak wood.

Taste: A sweet and full opening with notes of light grapes, peaches and pineapples, accompanied by creamy vanilla and creamy toffee, is complemented by warm oak spices and a hint of rancio.

A Taste of the Future: The creamy fruit sweetness is gradually replaced by dark toffee notes, grape nuances, hazelnut flavors and oak tones that deepen into dryness.

For a single bottle of “Irish Style”, a mash made from 100% Pilsner malt was distilled in a full reflux condenser. Thanks to this additional cooling coil in the Lyne Arm of the Spirit Still, only volatile aromas reached the New Make, which, after five years of maturation in a 190-liter Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Barrel, resulted in a balanced composition of sweet fruit. , creamy vanilla and soft toffee notes result.

One Fund of St. Kilian – David’s Choice – Unseasoned (limited to 300 bottles):

One bottle of the bottle “David’s Choice” was personally selected by the Rector of St. Kilians Spiritus, David F. Hynes. This smokeless wine matured for five years in a clean 225 liter barrel made of fine chestnut wood. The result of this incredible reserve is a full malt whiskey that not only impresses with its full-bodied fruit sweetness, dry tannins and warm notes, but also impresses with its beautiful mahogany color.

One box of St. Kilian – Chopped Turf Tails – Frozen (limited to 315 bottles):

For the single malt “Turf Tail Distillers Cut”, only the last 250 liters of the middle run were collected during the second distillation in the still spirit before switching to the finish. This precise handling of the distillation gave the spirit a stronger smoke before maturing for four years in an old Jack Daniel’s cask. The result is a balanced malt whiskey with an aromatic structure of peat, fruit, vanilla and warm oak spices.

Scent: Fragrant peat smoke gives way to malt sweetness, creamy vanilla, fruity avocado and juicy pears, which are rounded by soft toffee and a pinch of spicy oak.

“Ultra Heavily Peated” malted barley from Scotland was used for the six-year-old single bottle, matured in a 250 liter hogshead that had previously contained Oloroso sherry. This single malt whiskey impresses with its intense fruity sweetness and warming oak spice. Nice dark chocolate rounds out the flavor, while aromatic peat smoke and a subtle ash note wrap the whole thing up.

Scent: Behind the aroma of smoky compost, notes of juicy apricots and ripe yellow pears are revealed, which are accentuated by the taste of sultanas and rounded by the weight of tar.
