Exclusive test drive in a Mercedes EQXX with a range of over 1200 km

Wow, it shakes here. “You know, a car shouldn’t be driven by many people,” are the greetings we hear at the large Mercedes-Benz test site near Immendingen (D). I am amazed once again how many true Swabians still “work at Daimler” even in times of globalization – and look at the Maono EQXX, a 1.35 meter flat tech carrier with a star.

“I better not drop it, okay?” I ask out loud. The electric silver arrow costs millions and millions. “It couldn’t be better,” answers EQXX project manager Malte Sievers (33) with a laugh. But be sure of EQXX. One ride didn’t run against the wall, but it was subjected to all online crash tests. On engineering? “It may seem that way, but that is our claim when it comes to cars on public roads.” Man, it’s the Germans here, in the best sense of the word – if that’s what it is, then that’s what it is. Such research vehicles are usually temporary mechanic shops.
