Scott Redding is convinced of the complete success of the BMW / World Superbike Championship

So far, the 2024 World Superbike Championship has been dominated by Ducati, but just look at the overall standings. The nearest world championship is led by Nicolò Bulega from the Aruba.it factory team, whose teammate Alvaro Bautista is second. And with Andrea Iannone (Go Eleven) and Danilo Petrucci (Barni Racing) the other V4Rs follow in 5th and 6th place. No other manufacturer has more than three bikes in the top 10.

But BMW’s improvement was evident in the first two meetings of the season in Phillip Island and Barcelona. ROKiT driver Toprak Razgatlioglu won two races, took four podiums from six races and is fourth in the World Championship. Teammate Michael van der Mark is eighth. The Dutchman has already insisted that he sees Ducati and BMW in the future.

Now Scott Redding, of all people, the worst BMW driver ever, showed up. The Englishman scored only ten points and is only 16th in the World Cup. But the 31-year-old not only sees his time coming, but also that of BMW as a whole.

“When we come to the racetracks where we have been strong in the past, it will not be just one of us at the front, but all of us,” said the Bonovo driver. “Then we’ll get some momentum with the team and the whole project and the ball will start moving. We’ll be competitive on the slopes where we’ve been a little strong before. We want to be in the top five and fight for the podium, and I think we’ll see more of that.”

Redding is competing in his third season with BMW and sees positive changes for the M1000RR.

“The bike is very fast and the handling is there too. It’s a matter of bringing it all together. We worked on the bike to make it slower and faster; we have achieved that. If we keep working like this in Assen, we can get into the top six. This is where the power of me and the machine can lie. I look forward to this race.”
