System 1 | Massa hopes Hamilton will have a competitive F1 at Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025 continues to get people talking and this time it is the former Ferrari driver, the Briton’s former rival on the track, who comments on this future association in F1.

Felipe Massa was alongside Hamilton on the F1 grid for a decade.

During Massa’s 15-year career, he drove for Sauber, Ferrari and Williams. But he finished second in the championship in 2008 when Hamilton won his first title for McLaren.

Massa is still taking legal action against the FIA, F1 and Bernie Ecclestone over the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix and the controversial “crashgate” incident which he claims cost him the title against Hamilton.

Massa now says he can’t wait to see Hamilton swap his Mercedes F1 seat for Ferrari in 2025.

“For next year it will be a big change at Ferrari with the decision of Lewis to leave Mercedes.”

“I think it’s really cool, it’s really interesting. Even for marketing. Everyone’s talking about it.”

“It will definitely be nice to see Lewis in a red suit in a red car. I think the fans are already crazy about it.”

“I hope he can have a competitive car because Ferrari didn’t have the right car to fight Red Bull. Let’s see if they can do it, they are already good this year.”

“And let’s also see how it will be for Lewis to drive Ferrari, it will be interesting to see him against Charles. It will be a good battle between them.”

“But I’m happy, it will be good for Formula 1, it will be good for the sport as well.”
