Mitsubishi’s compact SUV ASX is not interesting. It performs admirably during general inspections – consistently above average performance. The TÜV report therefore classifies it as an internal tip. But Mitsubishi ASX is also not without its flaws.

It was on the German market for more than a decade and remained a stranger to many: The Mitsubishi ASX may not be eye-catching. It may be that its lack of recognition is simply due to the low number of registrations. In any case, HU makes people sit up and take notice: “ASX is better than average in all years and aspects,” says the “Auto Bild TÜV Report 2024” and immediately elevates the Japanese model to “the inside edge”.

Model history

The first generation is history, at least as a new car. Strengthen

“The ASX remains on a solid footing,” says the TÜV report. Neither suspension axles nor drive shafts or springs, dampers or steering systems offer structural criticism – and that’s for all years of manufacture.

The same applies to almost all lighting test points; There is also no defect in the braking system. Oil leaks and problems passing the emissions test (AU) do happen, but less often than average.

But the tip is also not without its flaws: from the third HU in the seven-year age of the car, the ASX often suffers from problems with the links of the steering wheel and the exhaust system, and at the same age the foot and parking brakes often. it no longer works properly. A general inspection later, the headlight was complained of above-average levels, and one more inspection later, at eleven years old, worn brake discs were a problem.

Disruptive behavior

According to the club, the ASX ranks “good or very good” in the ADAC analysis statistics. However, there are serious damages: in cars registered for the first time in 2011, 2012 and 2015, the radio keys provide emergency assistance, and the old ASX turbochargers also have a bad condition (2012 and 2013).
