On Tuesday, a tragic accident occurred near St. Thomas that resulted in the death of one individual.
The accident was reported to the police around 2:30 PM and occurred on a main road in the area. According to initial reports, a car was travelling at high speed when it suddenly veered off the road, crashed into a tree, and burst into flames.
Emergency services responded to the scene of the accident and were able to extinguish the fire. Sadly, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. No other passengers were inside the car at the time of the crash.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident. It is believed that the driver of the vehicle was travelling at an excessive speed and failed to take the correct turn in order to stay on the road. This resulted in the car veering off the road and crashing into a tree.
