Fatal Collision Occurs at Intersection of 3900 East and County Line Road in Jefferson County
On Tuesday, a fatal car crash occurred at the intersection of 3900 East and County Line Road in Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported that the collision, which transpired at approximately 3:15 PM, involved a sedan and a pickup truck.
Initial investigations suggest that the sedan was travelling southbound on County Line Road when it collided with the pickup truck, which was travelling eastbound on 3900 East. The force of the impact caused the sedan to become engulfed in flames.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and the driver of the sedan, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a nearby medical facility, where they were treated for serious, though non-life-threatening injuries.
JCSO is continuing to investigate the incident, but preliminary data indicates that the driver of the pickup truck may have been negligent in failing to yield the right of way to the driver of the sedan.
The JCSO has urged any witnesses of the accident to come forward and contact the Sheriff’s Office with any information that may assist in their ongoing investigation.
