Feel like James Bond. Aston Martin restarts production of the iconic DB5

A similar practice is being used by Jaguar, which has so far revived the E-Type Lightweight and XKSS models. Aston Martin, inspired by the success of the continuation of the DB4 GT project (25 historic racing cars were built), prepared another interesting proposal for the richest people in the world. These are 25 cars that are faithful copies of the 1964 DB5 model that was driven by James Bond (played by Sean Connery) in the movie “Goldfinger”.

Of course, there are a few “buts”. Best of all, the price: £2.75m, excluding tax! In addition, the new old Aston Martin DB5s will not be converted to roadsters. However, they will have interesting accessories, as well. in rotating license numbers. The adaptation will be made by the special effects supervisor of 8 Bond films, Oscar winner Chris Corbould. This is an additional flavor.

All cars will be of the same dimensions, with a 4.0-liter, 282 HP six-cylinder engine and silver bodies. Also like the original, they will be manufactured at the brand’s historic factory in Newport Pagnell. In addition to the copies produced for the lucky 25, three other “Bond” DB5s will be built – for EON Productions and Aston Martin, and one for a charity auction.

*** The Aston Martin DB5 is one of today’s most recognizable classics. This beautiful model has starred in a total of six films about the adventures of the British agent James Bond. In addition to “Goldfinger,” he can be seen in “Operation Lightning,” again with Sean Connery, “GoldenEye” and “Tomorrow Never Dies” with Pierce Brosnan, and also in three parts with Daniel Craig – “Casino Royale”, “Skyfall” and Spectre.
