Charles Leclerc (Ferrari): “It should be close” / Formula 1

Charles Leclerc has been on the podium twice in the Formula 1 season so far, which is only four race weekends. The Ferrari star made it to the podium in third place in Saudi Arabia and finished second in the following race in Melbourne. Both times he also earned a bonus point for the fastest lap of the race. He finished fourth in the races in Bahrain and Japan.

In the most recent rollercoaster race at Suzuka, the Monegasque was impressed with its tire management. He made it through just one stop after the red flag and was able to move up from 8th on the grid. He starts the weekend race in China in third place in the World Championship.

Ahead of his return to the Shanghai International Circuit, the 26-year-old said: “On paper, we should be a bit stronger at this track than at Suzuka. But we will approach the weekend like any other. Red Bull Racing will probably be ahead here as well and I think we need to focus more and get the most out of the two qualifying sessions. Overall we did well in race conditions this year.”

And the racing driver from Monte Carlo insists: “I think we should be closer to the front people in the race. But let’s see how it goes, it’s been a long time since we’ve been here and the asphalt has been painted, if I saw it correctly. Let’s see how our car handles it.”
