Fernando Alonso for Chinese Doctor: “Mad Race” / Formula 1

Fernando Alonso was temporarily in second place in the Chinese GP. The two-time world champion had a shocking time and crossed the finish line in seventh place. He was also happy about the fastest lap of the race.

After a good qualifying performance, Fernando Alonso was able to face the GP in China from 3rd position on the second row of the grid. The Formula 1 veteran got off to a good start and briefly took second place. After 56 laps he crossed the finish line 43.414 seconds behind winner Max Verstappen in seventh place.

The two-time champion from the Aston Martin team was also pleased with the extra stage of the fastest race lap. He was satisfied with seven new World Cup points. After he got out, he explained: “It was definitely a crazy race, a lot happened.”

And the 42-year-old Asturian said: “I had a good start and was second in the first few laps. Then we had a few safety car periods which probably didn’t help us much in our strategy.”

“In fact, they were beneficial to the opponents, who were able to protect their tires. We had to stop again. That was not ideal. In the end I almost got away, but I set the fastest lap and took seventh. Overall, I think it was a good weekend,” summed up Alonso.

The 32-time GP winner commented on the fact that he changed to soft tires to get: “I only had a new set of hard racing tires and in the middle of the corresponding row we had the safety car. phase. Maybe next weekend we should make sure we save the sentence one for the race.”
