Fernando Alonso: Aston Martin Vertrag until the end of 2026 / Formula

Formula 1 star Fernando Alonso is staying with Aston Martin. The 42-year-old Spaniard has signed a new multi-year deal with the Greens, it was confirmed on April 11.

Recently, Fernando Alonso said perversely: “My contract with Aston Martin ends, and as I see it, I am the world champion without a contract for 2025.” Translation: I leave all options open.

Spanish journalists have already written about Alonso in a Mercedes car, and some journalists believed that we would see the 2005 and 2006 Formula 1 champion again in a Red Bull racing car next season. Even close!

On the evening of April 11, Aston Martin confirmed: 32-time GP winner Alonso, now 42 years old, has signed a new multi-year contract with the Canadian entrepreneur Lawrence Stroll’s racing team. The new contract is set to run until the end of 2026, as Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack has confirmed.

The Luxembourger says: “This is great news for the team. We have built a strong bond over the last 16 months. We believe together in this project that will make Aston Martin a GP winner.

“Fernando and I have had extensive discussions over the last few months, and he has kept his promise: Before talking to another racing team, he wants to see where Aston Martin is headed. Fernando believes in us and we believe in him.”

“Everyone can see how hungry Fernando Alonso is for success. He is driving better than ever, he is fitter than ever. The new agreement will take him well into the 2026 season when we start working with Honda.
