New Dacia Spring: how much does it cost in Poland?

With the premiere of the second generation, Dacia Spring received a new look, two engine versions and a more mature interior. Despite this, it has become cheaper, but there is a catch.

The first generation Dacia Spring, which is actually the flagship of the Chinese Renault Kwid, was launched on the Polish market at a price of more than PLN 80,000. It was in 2021, but since then the Romanian car has increased in price to more than PLN 100,000.

The new Dacia Spring is based on the platform already used in its predecessor. It has a similar wheelbase of 242.3 cm and very similar exterior dimensions. Body length is now 370.1 cm, about 2 cm less than the outgoing model. The trunk, in turn, has increased by 6% – up to 308 liters.

New Dacia Spring: attractive price

Since the debut of Dacia Spring until today, approximately 140,000 customers have bought this car in Europe alone. The new style should sell better. Why? Not only was it more attractively designed, but it was also surprisingly priced (HERE you will find out the prices of the new Dacia Duster).

The new Dacia Spring debuted on the Polish market with a starting price of PLN 76,900. This is how much you have to pay for the 45-horsepower version of the Essential. Surprisingly, this variant of the weak Romanian electric car has a price that looks good basically on… billboards.

However, the car itself looks very ordinary. The body has many black, unpainted elements, including: the bottom of the bumpers (the rear has a gray strip, painted), wheel arches, door handles and side mirrors.

The new Dacia Spring Electric 45 runs on 14-inch rims and covers and has only one screen in the cabin. These are digital watches. However, the interior of this car looks more modern than the outgoing model, which had a lot of annoying details (You can read more about it HERE).

The equipment of the new Dacia Spring Essential is very ordinary. You won’t find here electrically adjustable windows and rear mirrors, or even… manual air conditioning! Not to mention the multimedia system. Instead, there is a smartphone owner.

The new car from Romania includes rear parking sensors, as well as a radio with steering wheel controls and a display connected to the on-board computer. In addition, the driver is supported by, among others: active braking systems and recognition of road markings.

New Dacia Spring: two engine versions

The new Dacia Spring Electric 45 Essential is powered by an electric motor with a power of 45 HP and a maximum torque of 125 Nm. The Romanians don’t give an official acceleration time, but you should expect it to take about 19 seconds to reach the 100 km/h limit.

The gravity battery has a capacity of 26.8 kWh and is enough to cover a distance of 225 km (according to the WLTP cycle). The car is usually charged with alternating current with a power of up to 7.4 kW, in both engine variants, regardless of the equipment version.

A fast charging function with a power of up to 30 kWh is available as an option. It costs PLN 2,750 extra, but it allows you to charge the traction battery from 20 to 80% in 45 minutes. With a 7.4 kW wall it takes 4 hours (20-100%).

The most powerful variant of the new Dacia Spring produces 65 HP and also accelerates to 125 km/h (110 km/h as the Cargo variant). Here you can expect to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 14 seconds. The range is 228 km.

65 horsepower versions are more expensive

The new Dacia Spring Electric 65 costs from PLN 86,000 in the Expression variant to PLN 90,600 in the Extreme variant. The most expensive is Cargo, which Romans value at least PLN 92,400.

As for the Expression variant, the car already has door handles and side mirrors in body color and rides on 15-inch rims, but it’s still metal. Inside, there is manual air conditioning, and a multimedia system is available for an additional fee of PLN 3,600. For this amount, in one package we also get a reverse camera and an additional USB-C port.

The new Dacie Spring Electric 65 Extreme still rides on 15-inch steel rims, but with black covers (pictured above). It also has protective stickers on the doors (like the Expression) and a sticker on the C-pillar.

Inside, though, you’ll find extras like electrically adjustable rear windows and side mirrors, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors. Front ones require an additional fee of PLN 700.

However, there is a multimedia system with a 10-inch touchscreen, online navigation and, among others, Wireless smartphone pairing (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay) is already standard.
