New information about Adrian Newey after rumors of a contract offer with Ferrari

According to the Italian FormulaPassion, Newey was in Italy to participate in a race event in Mugello. Newey not only designs winning F1 cars for Red Bull, McLaren and Williams, but is also a keen racer and took part in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2007 – behind the wheel of a Ferrari.

Newey’s stop in Bologna was a detour before the 65-year-old Briton enjoyed a day at Ferrari’s Mugello circuit on March 25 in a race event organized by KR Motorsports.

Newey’s presence at the event was confirmed by driver Thomas Biagi, who recorded Newey recording a good luck message. At one point in the clip, Biagi is heard saying, “Let’s hope Mr. Newey comes to Ferrari one day!”

Although Newey is under contract with Red Bull, his future – along with that of Max Verstappen – has been called into question in recent weeks due to rising tensions within Red Bull.
