Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur: Thanks to Mattia Binotto / Formula 1

After Mattia Binotto left the Ferrari team, Fred Vasseur took over as team leader at Maranello. The Frenchman recently thanked his predecessor.

“I’m sure it will be a good transition,” said Ferrari star Charles Leclerc when asked about the change of team boss at the world’s oldest GP racing team at the FIA awards ceremony. At the same time, the Monegasque, who finished second in the world championship last year, insisted: “It will probably take time for the team boss to get used to the system with Ferrari, because it is a big team.”

New team boss Fred Vasseur also recently spoke at a press conference about the handover of the head of the racing team from Maranello. He also thanked his predecessor Mattia Binotto. Because the Italian, who had led the fortunes of the racing team since 2019 and left his post at the end of last year, played his part in the positive change.

Vasseur revealed: “Although there were rumors before the end of last year’s season in Abu Dhabi, we started talks after the end of the season. We sat down for the first time a week after the Abu Dhabi race and it was a very quick process.”

“After that I had a conversation with Mattia on the phone and I also met with him to do a face-to-face handover. I thank Mattia for waiting to discuss with me. I am very grateful for that from my side, » emphasized the 54-year-old, who recently worked as the boss of team at Alfa Romeo Racing.
