Ferrari has debuted the Roma Spider, the latest addition to its collection of two-seater grand touring sports cars. The open-top variant of the V8-powered Roma coupe, the Spider is distinguished by its retractable hardtop, which Ferrari claims is the lightest of its kind.
The Italian automaker has showcased the Spider’s sleek design, asserting that its sculpted lines and aerodynamic silhouette combine to form a “timelessly modern aesthetic.” The Spider’s exterior design is further distinguished by its triple-vented hood, slimmer headlights and LED taillights, and dual exhaust tailpipes.
Inside, the Spider is outfitted with a range of cutting-edge technology, including the Ferrari Human Machine Interface, which allows drivers to customize the vehicle’s settings via a touchscreen. Additionally, the Spider’s cabin is equipped with a 16-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a leather upholstery.
Under the hood, the Spider is powered by a turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine, which delivers 612 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a dual-clutch transmission, which is capable of accelerating the Spider from 0-62 mph in 3.45 seconds and reaching a top speed of 199 mph.
The Roma Spider is set to debut in the summer of 2021, with prices starting at €213,000. Ferrari has yet to release specific details on the vehicle’s availability, though it is expected to be available in limited numbers.
