(CercleFinance.com) – As part of a strategic partnership, Siemens and Mercedes-Benz AG have created a Digital Energy Twin to improve the integration of energy efficiency and sustainability measures into industrial design and modernization.
The tool is designed to support the ambition to run all of the automaker’s wholly-owned production sites worldwide on 100% renewable energy by 2039.
Based on the characteristic designs of buildings, technical equipment and energy production, the Digital Energy Twin has been designed and tested at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen, Germany.
Simulating a real energy system, it validates the recommended scenarios for energy planning, giving recommendations on how to improve the desired results, including energy efficiency and related cost savings, as well as reducing emissions.
