Max Verstappen at the Chinese GP: That’s what matters / Formula 1

Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen is eyeing a return to the GP in China after his victory in Suzuka. The Red Bull Racing star knows what it takes to have a successful weekend in Shanghai.

The 2024 season is going well for Max Verstappen. In Australia he had to settle for a painful zero because brake problems prevented him from reaching the finish line. However, he was able to win the other three races that were contested so far this season. Accordingly he is confident about the upcoming fight in Shanghai.

GP stars and teams can expect more of a track that they haven’t covered since 2019. The China weekend is also the first this year to be held in a sprint format. That is why the challenge is so great, as Verstappen also confirms. Before the start of the race weekend, he mentions two key factors for success.

“Since we haven’t driven there since 2019 and we will only finish free practice, it will be important that we set up the car as well as possible and protect our tires as well as possible,” explains the 26-year-old Dutchman, who is confident : “It makes the race weekend exciting more for the fans.”

“The team has worked hard to prepare for this challenge,” says the Red Bull Racing star, and, referring to the Shanghai track, he says: “It has a unique layout that includes a hard corner and a long straight that offers more opportunities. I always enjoyed it. travel there and I look forward to going there again.”
