Foley and Barletta Take the Lead in Turner BMW Sweep at Sebring
BMW Team Turner Motorsport’s Bill Auberlen, Paul Dalla Lana and Markus Palttala secured a remarkable sweep of the podium in Sebring International Raceway’s American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race, with their Turner Motorsport BMW M3s leading the way.
The BMW trio of Auberlen, Dalla Lana and Palttala dominated the 12-hour endurance race, with Auberlen taking the checkered flag in first place, followed by Dalla Lana and Palttala in second and third, respectively.
The team’s impressive performance was highlighted by a dominant showing from Bill Auberlen and co-driver Michael Marsal, who led the majority of the race. Auberlen and Marsal set the pace from the start, with Auberlen’s M3 leading both the first and second stints.
Auberlen and Marsal’s first-place finish marked the first time in ALMS series history that a BMW M3 had won a 12-hour race.
In the GT class, BMW Team Turner Motorsport’s Bret Curtis and Dane Cameron also made their mark, bringing their M3 to fourth place overall. Curtis and Cameron held their own against some of the world’s most experienced endurance drivers, and their impressive performance earned them a final position of fourth in the GT category.
The team’s remarkable sweep at Sebring serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Turner Motorsport. The team overcame a number of challenging conditions throughout the race, including treacherous weather and a number of mechanical issues, to secure a remarkable victory.
