With these dinosaurs, Jaguar bids farewell to the F-type

Dinosaurs? We call it the F-Type for two reasons. First, the British sports car is already twelve years old, Jaguar itself admits that “it will only be a modern luxury brand” from 2025.

Earlier this year, Autovisie presented the Jaguar F-Type he made a road trip through Spain. This is a reflection on the impending retirement of Jaguar’s last sports car with a combustion engine.

The Jaguar F-Type will end in 2024

Production of the F-Type will end in 2024. One sentence in the press release about these special editions indicates that it has been on the market for a very long time.

The F-Type has been released several times, writes Jaguar, including the 2013 World Car Design title. Nice, but a little sad that Jaguar had to go back ten years to dig that up.

A fully electric luxury brand

Of course we all know the reason. Jaguar does not have an easy time, with outdated models and disappointing results. The manufacturer has set its hopes on 2025.

Then Jaguar will be a luxury electric brand. The brand was actually going to introduce an electric XJ in 2022 (models were already circulating), but that was canceled at the last minute.

One hundred and fifty copies

In any case, before Jaguar says goodbye to the combustion engine, there will be one special edition F-Type: the ZP Edition, which is inspired by two E-Type racing cars from the 1960s.

Jaguar builds one hundred and fifty units of the ZP Edition only. All have the familiar 5.0-liter V8 and a supercharger up front. The power source produces 575 hp.

Price of F-Type ZP Edition

There are two colors available for the ZP Edition: dark blue with a red and black interior, and white with a dark blue and black interior. The ‘circle’ – the white circle on the side – is normal.

Coupe and convertible have a maximum speed of 300 km / h. Type F-wheel drive reaches 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. The ZP version costs at least 236,252 euros in the Netherlands.
