In September, Ford showed two models. Both are very important. The headlight was stolen, of course, by the new Ford Mustang. Still with the naturally aspirated 5.0 V-8 under the hood. Just as important, if not more important in the next few years, is the debut of the electric E-Transit Custom. Europe’s most popular zero-emission vehicle. You can read our comments from the first presentation below. Next we’ll focus on its big brother, which we had the opportunity to drive and see what the future of pickup trucks looks like.

Ford E-Transit – power and torque

The Ford E-Transit is an electric vehicle with a battery mounted under the floor, with a usable capacity of 67 kWh. There are two engine versions: and 184 hp or 269 hp. Maximum in both cases torque is 430 Nmand the power goes to the rear wheels. The white E-Transit is the most powerful variant.

This is the fastest delivery truck ever to visit Moto.pl. Why so much power? First of all, for practical reasons, but we will come to the numbers later. Second, the E-Transit will be used as a short- and medium-distance transportation vehicle, so it will mainly travel in cities. Thanks to such power and speed, it is an amazing example of “city”.

We know these advantages from individual electricians – the instant reaction to the gas is pure pleasure and a useful aid in everyday maneuvering. Changing lanes or joining traffic is pure joy behind the wheel of the E-Transit.

Important number. How much can E-Transit carry?

It depends. Ford insists that the E-Transit won’t differ much from the regular rear-wheel drive Transit. And you can adjust it according to your needs.

In Poland, Ford E-Transit is available in three body styles – van, brigade van and single cabin chassis. In addition, there are three types of height and two lengths. In total, it can be ordered in more than 20 types, although the number is quite normal. If we add to the various bodies that can be placed on E-Transit, it will increase significantly. It is allowed to do any kind of normal development. Therefore, there is no need to develop and manufacture special components for the electric version, and thus the price of the top models will be the same as for the internal combustion vehicles.

And the number? Depending on the version, the loading space ranges from 9.5 to 15.1 cubic meters. The most impressive variant will take up to 1725 kg of payload. In turn, the chassis has a load of up to 2015 kg. It all depends on the version you have chosen. Similar to the price – the lowest amount in the current price list is PLN 256,900. It can be reduced due to the government subsidy, which can reach PLN 70,000.

The most important technical data is already behind us. So, let’s look for some curiosities in E-Transit that will also appeal to people who don’t deal with vans on a daily basis. Just like me. Nothing crazy in appearance. Only blue pieces on the grill and placed under the mark.

I love the interior, which is surprisingly… personal. This is probably due to the larger 12-inch screen of the SYNC multimedia system in the latest version numbered 4. It is reportedly twice as fast as the three and offers more functionality, including wireless updates up front. On the other hand, the 360 ​​camera will help you drive.

I was once at the Polish presentation of E-Transit. So I know what else is worth mentioning

As a regular delivery person, I have to rely on the memories of the last few months. A large part of the presentation was devoted to Synchronization 4, but not the functions that we usually deal with on Moto.pl, but those of fleet management. The system allows you to schedule payments for specific days of the week. You can also set a specific temperature in the cabin during charging, which means that the heating energy of the cabin is taken from the network, so the battery will be 100%. charged when you start working.

Managers who manage more vehicles will be pleased with FordPass Pro, an advanced solution that, thanks to the software, allows you to manage up to 12 vehicles and track 5 at a time. The app sends real-time notifications about your vehicles, along with detailed information about their condition. It can also be used to remotely unlock and lock the car, and even start the car.

I haven’t forgotten at all. How much will such an electric Transit drive?

It also depends. The top model in the Ford E-Transit family can be used without a socket for up to 309 km. And other versions? I have listed several popular configurations:

Car charging time from 0 to 100%. and now the alternative of 11.3 kW is 8.2 hours. We charge the E-Transit from 15 to 80 percent with a fast charger with a DC power of 115 kW. takes 34 minutes.

Ford Transit is ready for a new era. It has an excellent drive, is clean and has lost none of its practical value. It will work well as a last-mile delivery truck, but also for medium distances, thanks to the perfect range. Soon, the sight of such vehicles on green plates will become common, and E-Transit may turn out to be one of the leaders of the segment.
