The Ford Mustang Mach-E was significantly improved in the new model year

The American automaker has presented the new model year of the all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E. As Electrek reports, some performance characteristics have been significantly improved. In addition to the range and acceleration, the performance of the payment is also increased. The model update for the new model year came a little late at the beginning of April, but the wait was worth it, portal experts state.

In the new model year, the range will increase to 515 km. With standard range and rear-wheel drive, the car can now reach 402 km, almost 32 km more than before. The range of the version with a larger battery also increases with this value to the aforementioned 515 km. The all-wheel-drive GT variant manages at least 16 km more and now has a range of 451 km. The values are US information, so they may differ from European values.

A new version of the rally has been raised

However, the battery sizes seemed to be the same as the previous model year. However, the rear engine in particular has become more efficient, and other parts of the electric car have also been able to achieve more range through modifications. With the larger battery, charging from 10 to 80 percent should now take about 36 minutes, up from about 45 minutes previously. The small battery now charges from 10 to 80 percent in less than five minutes. Whether this is due to higher charging power and/or higher charging curve is not discussed in detail in the article.

The new GT model including the performance package (usually in the new version of the rally, which is a good two and a half centimeters higher) needs only 3.3 seconds to run from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96.6 kilometers per hour). This means it would reach this speed faster than the Tesla Model Y Performance or the Porsche Macan 4 Electric. The standard version is offered at prices starting at less than 40,000 US dollars (36,800 euros), while the rally version as a top-spec model costs less than 60,000 US dollars (55,200 euros). It is not yet known when and at what price the new model year will be available in Europe. The 2023 versions are currently still offered in Germany – and at a higher price starting at 55,800 euros.
