A few days ago, Audi presented the “facelift” of the A3. The changes were few, like those made to the revised 2024 Audi S3, revealed today, which however changes little on a technical level.

The presentation, a few days ago, of the revised A3 was on all occasions, with a ringed brand, revealing a new version of all roads, and a pleasant look.

Audi is denying its communication plan for now to reveal the S3’s redesign, the sports version. In terms of (meaningful) cosmetic changes, the revised Audi S3 receives a redesigned “Singleframe” (hexagonal, shapeless) and wide grille, which has the special feature of making the logo less visible. Its headlights, in turn, offer a choice between four light signatures, depending on the driver’s desire (as in the latest Q6 e-Tron).

The shields, front and back, also continue to be, in general, more aggressive. The revised Audi S3 benefits from new exterior colors, including District Green, Ascari Blue (pictured), Continuous Red and – this is a first – Daytona Gray available in a matte finish (also pictured).

Minor developments should also be noted inside: the design of the gear lever, decorative inserts, ambient lighting… in general, the modified Audi S3 offers a black color in the cabin and a few silver touches. In terms of connectivity, with the central touch screen (10.1 inches), the Audi Virtual cockpit (digital device behind the steering wheel) and the smartphone induction charger, the new S3 can receive (optionally) new software. through Connect Audi.

Still powered by the 2.0 TFSI (petrol, non-hybrid), the redesigned Audi S3 gains 23 horsepower, reaching a whopping 333 horsepower. Torque increases from 400 to 420 Nm, again: 0 to 100 km/h is achieved, depending on Audi, in 4.7 seconds while the top speed is still limited to 250 km / h.

The S tronic (seven-speed) robotic gearbox now has more “pleasant” settings (gear change time under full load would have been halved). Borrowing a style from the RS3, the modified Audi S3 is equipped with torque distribution, which allows for a completely different distribution of torque between the rear wheels. In “Dynamic Plus” mode, this distributor sends the maximum possible torque to the rear axle and to the rear wheel outside the bend, with an oversteer effect and thus “ape” the behavior of the rear wheel drive. .

Finally, we will see that, according to Audi, the new 19-inch tires provide better grip, that the sports suspension of the S (which lowers the car by 15 mm compared to the Audi A3) has been improved (electronic suspension control of the new generation stability. , better steering response, etc.) and that the brake discs are larger (57 mm in diameter and 34 mm thick, or 4 mm more than before).

The facelifted Audi S3 will be available from dealers in the second quarter of 2024 starting at €63,000 for the Audi S3 Sportback and €63,565 for the Audi S3 Sedan.
