Saarlouis (Saarland) – The proposal was unanimously approved at the Saarland Day of the Junge Union (JU): tanks instead of cars should be built at the Ford site in Saarlouis in the future. The last batch will roll off the assembly line there at the end of 2025.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Saarland did not hate the proposal: at least it does not rule out negotiations with defense companies to find a future solution for the buildings of the American car manufacturer. Saarland (BILD reported).

Of the Saarland YES it even goes one step further: it requires not only a tank factory, but also the takeover of Saarlouis Ford workers.

Laßotta: “In addition, there must be a guarantee of acceptance of all the main weapon systems of the company. The armies for the next 25 years.” In this way, the production capacity could be expanded and “a stockpile of material urgently needed for the creation of new military units” could be created.
