China Stroll crash: That’s what team boss Mike Krack / Formula 1 says

In the Chinese GP, Lance Stroll rear-ended Daniel Ricciardo and received a penalty. As he expressed misunderstanding, an argument broke out. Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack commented on the accident.

Even behind the safety car, Lance Stroll caused an accident in the Chinese GP. The Aston Martin driver drove into the rear of Racing Bulls driver Daniel Ricciardo in the braking area of the hairpin corner. It didn’t take long for the stewards to identify the culprit – they handed Stroll a 10-second time penalty. He showed no signs of awareness and told the media after the race that he was surprised by the braking maneuver.

The Canadian’s choice of words was clear – he called Ricciardo an idiot. This in turn angered the exuberant Australian. He also did not ignore the slander and was angry: “What happened was clear for everyone to see, and the reaction of the race officials was clear.” And he stressed: “Before restarting, it’s part of the pilot’s job to pay attention to the car in front. Usually you can’t see what the pace leader is doing, so you line up with the direct rival in front of you.

Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack was of course also asked about the accident. And in front of the “Sky” camera, the Luxembourger said: “That was a problem, I think both drivers would have scored, but unfortunately he could not avoid it. Then one thing leads to another.”

“He was the last link in the chain, it started at the front with Sainz, then everyone braked and went to the left. You can also see that Daniel brakes hard, like McLaren, and Fernando also has both wheels locked. “Something like that happens. in a situation like this,” Krack continued.

Krack was surprised that the management came to a decision so quickly, as he admitted: “It happened quickly, I was a little surprised how quickly they judged. We looked at it more differently. But these are decisions that the referee makes and you have to accept that.”
