Formula 1: Sebastian Vettel fuels speculation about the future – will the former world champion leave Aston Martin?

“It’s no secret that we wanted to be ahead as a team – but now we’re behind,” admitted Sebastian Vettel.

After the first five races, Aston Martin is in the Champions League with just six points. Williams alone is behind the cultural brand by three points.

Vettel scored his only points so far in the Imola race in eighth place. Currently, the top ten placement must be considered a success. In the Miami race, the Heppenheim man was approaching points, but collided with Mick Schumacher on the Haas. Shortly afterwards, Vettel was forced to park his car.

In fact, the four-time world champion is not satisfied with that. “When I started I didn’t care. But I’m not here to finish out of the top 10,” said Vettel and made it clear: “I want to win.”

Vettel: “No decision has yet been made”

The 34-year-old added that he was “devastated” in the matter because he knew how it felt to win the race and the title.

His contract with the English race team expires at the end of the season. Should Aston Martin not be able to improve significantly through updates during this season, the team could have a bad card in negotiations to extend the contract.

Everything is still clear in this regard. “I have not yet made a decision about my future,” said Vettel.

According to these reports, more years of having a midfield team seems impossible.
