The Dodge Neon probably means nothing to you. And you won’t miss a thing about it. Because that model is one of the stupidest Americans ever built. However, this Neon can stand out from the rest and is a true supercar killer during drag racing.
The Dodge Neon was produced from 1995 to 2005. There have been two generations of the model. With a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that doesn’t produce more than 150 hp, the American isn’t as aggressive as the name suggests.
After all, he is not such a pure American
Dodge changed the second-generation Neon to the SRT-4 in 2003. This means that a 2.4-liter turbocharged cylinder was installed in the Neon. The power source produced 215 hp (later 230 hp). However, this version is not based on the car in the video. The cleaner used the first generation Neon.
Under the hood is the SRT-4. The power source is fully modified and uses C85 fuel. This is a special racing fuel with a very high octane number. The Dodge Neon produces 700 horsepower on this special fuel. That means it’s faster than most supercars.
Faster than most supercars
During the Texas Mile, a drag racing event in America, the car reaches a top speed of 200.9 miles per hour, more than 323 kilometers per hour. Amazing speed for an American ‘light’ four-cylinder engine.
