There is a spectacular accident in the Engelberg tunnel. The 24-year-old Ferrari driver survived, but the damage is extensive.

Böblingen – It was almost a year ago that an accident occurred near Neu-Ulm that took many people’s breath away and left a veritable rubble field on the B28. At that time, the driver of a sports car collided with the car of a woman (69) while passing, who died.

Fortunately, the accident in the Engelberg tunnel in the district of Böblingen (Baden-Württemberg) had minor consequences. On Sunday morning (April 21), a 24-year-old lost control of his Ferrari sports car and crashed into a tunnel wall. The accident happened at 8 am on the way to Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg police report.

Shortly after entering the tunnel near Leonberg, the Ferrari F 40, which reaches a top speed of 320 kilometers per hour, began to skid and “first hit the left side and then the right tunnel wall,” police report. The Ferrari could no longer be driven and had to be towed to recover the car, the right and center lanes had to be closed for almost two and a half hours. The fire department, the rescue service and the Ludwigsburg police headquarters were on site with several vehicles.

It was only at the beginning of March that two men overturned their sports car in Swabia around midnight – one of the occupants was drunk and the car was probably going too fast. He they fled – probably also due to the six-figure damage caused. However, both were arrested. (wife, dp)
