DS 7 Crossback EAT8 180 HP after two years of work. We traveled 50,000 km

The luxury DS 7 Crossback with a 180 HP petrol engine and EAT8 automatic transmission was delivered to the editorial office of Francuskie.pl two years ago. This time we drove it more than 50,000 km. How do you do it?

Since July 2021, we have been doing a long-distance test of the DS 7 Crossback manufactured by DS Automobiles, the first brand of the Stellantis group. The car we took has almost everything that can be ordered at that time on board – the only exception is night vision. Today, almost two years later, we have more than 50,000 kilometers on the odometer.

The DS 7 Crossback is a luxury SUV, offering convenience, comfort and space inside. The manufacturer did not only care about the best sound blocking, very rich equipment, high-quality equipment, but also the design and luxurious feeling. The car is finished in a classic French style, with a rich finish reminiscent of the studios of luxury fashion designers and their emotional creations rather than the car’s austere style. This feeling of difference, or some uniqueness in the automotive industry, continues all the time – we always love to return to the interior of the DS 7 Crossback and drive it. Now let’s move on to more technical issues.

The average fuel consumption over the entire distance, which we carefully record and calculate, was 7.3 liters per 100 kilometers. During the entire operation of the car, the car was subject to one service, related to the sealing of the rear lights, which had a defect of manufacturing that caused water to collect in them. After two years, with 50,000 km, the car still has its original pads and discs.

The interior has lasted two years with no signs of wear – it looks and smells as good as new when we took the DS 7 Crossback into the showroom. The operation comes with adding fuel and regularly checking the tire pressure.

The color of the car was protected by ceramics and Mordor Detailing – there are no traces of use on it. Michelin Crossclimate 2 all-season tiresthat we use do not show any signs of wear, it is still soft and stable as at the time of installation. Soon we will do detailed tests and see how it looks in terms of numbers.

The biggest advantages of DS 7 Crossback after these two years include standing on the street, high driving comfort, good materials in the interior, good dynamics that allow you to cross freely in all conditions, engine economy, and things spacious interior. It is difficult to find any disadvantages – we would certainly like to have night vision equipment, which works well at night, and at high speeds, the SUV silhouette is not suitable for fuel economy. Updating the map and system takes a long time and requires the engine to be running, so it’s worth doing it while you’re driving – even though you don’t have access to the system at the time.

Our favorite system is the active cruise control and lane keeping, which works in the city and on the highway – it reduces the burden on drivers and works very efficiently.

We bought a 5 year service package for the car, so that we don’t incur additional costs for inspections or replacement parts – you could say “dump and drive”. Interestingly, such a warranty and service can be purchased for up to 8 years. DS 7 Crossback is a unique, unique, comfortable and reliable car – it was definitely a good choice.
