DTE prepares to expand natural gas service to the Mesick area, completing upgrades at Cadillac | Information

Recently, DTE Energy announced a number of new projects throughout the Cadillac region.

The company’s biggest project this year is the expansion of natural gas service to Mesick and Buckley in Wexford County.

Work on this project is expected to begin this spring and will be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Another project that the company is preparing for later this month is to improve the natural gas infrastructure in the city of Cadillac.

According to a press release issued by the city, DTE Energy and Miller Contracting will begin construction on April 15 to upgrade natural gas lines and move within meters outside.

“We will start by upgrading the pipes that run under the road and on your property with better, more durable materials,†reads a press release issued by DTE Energy. “Then, we will replace your indoor gas meter with an outdoor meter that we can read and service without entering your home or business.

The action will take two to three hours and the gas service will be turned off temporarily for those affected. If your meter is already out, DTE will simply enter your home to turn your equipment back on when the job is done.

If your property is affected, you should receive a brochure in the mail.

You can also check out DTE’s interactive map for dteenerrgy.com/gas-map to see if work is scheduled at your property.

Within 30 days of completing site work, crews will restore driveways, sidewalks and grass to their original condition.
