Music Box, Genesis more true than the real thing, recently in Toulouse

As if a divine light had found this child who, a few decades later, would take the role of the singer of The Musical Box, a group dedicated to the work of the group of his dreams. Since 1993 (1994 for Denis), the Canadian group has built an international reputation on the musical, visual and artistic incarnation of Genesis.

“I looked at pictures, videos and spent hours watching Genesis and Peter Gabriel,” he admits, to see as closely as possible what I needed to remember. And with the group, we do everything we can to be as accurate as possible. Sometimes I tell myself that I’m good for storage! » Because the boy and his friends are not lying, they all do a millimeter replay of the work of the gang of Gabriel, Collins, Banks and Rutherford. As proof, the “Selling Britain by the Pound” tour that passes through Toulouse in April and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the original album.

30 years ago, Denis Gagné performed several experiments in front of members of what would become the forerunner of tribute bands. “Since the Music Box existed,” continues the singer, “other groups – I’m thinking of Brit Floyd or Australian Pink Floyd – have been inspired to do the best we can, in detail and with respect. It must be said that certain tribute groups are sometimes transformed into groups of destruction!
