Instead of a bike rack, Giro’s Genesis Concept has a holder that attaches to the rear fender. The Korean luxury brand is keeping a low profile on the potential production of Speedium’s new research series.

It is the fifth edition of the Genesis X family: The Genesis X Speedium Giro, which celebrated its world premiere at the Automotive Design Event at the Munich Business and Drivers Club. The series started in March 2021 with the two-door Coupe X Concept, continued in April 2022 with the bullet brake called X Speedium Coupé and in November 2022 with the X Convertible Concept.

In January 2024, a variant of the Speedium called the X Snow Speedium Concept was released, painted in white and equipped with winter sports equipment from the manufacturer Anavon. The Genesis X Speedium Giro Concept on display now is based on the Snow Concept, but plays on the “bicycle” theme.

Holding the device on the rear spoiler

Instead of a traditional bike rack, the Giro Concept has a holding device that attaches to the rear spoiler; A racing bike sits much lower and further back. The roof structure seems to be very strong with this construction, while the loads on the roof usually break the line.

A super bright light is mounted on the roof, and four extra powerful lights are located on the front apron. The wheel design is more extreme compared to the five-spoke rims that appear standard on the Snow Concept and there is an additional tail section on the front wheels, which is intended to increase braking efficiency. Electric motors provide propulsion.

Series positions are uncertain

The Korean luxury brand is keeping a low profile regarding the series production prospects of this new Speedium study. The focus in Europe is currently on the market launch of the G90 luxury sedan, with the G80 and GV80 models receiving a facelift; There will be a very sporty variant of the electric GV60 called Magma.

Among the X family, the X Convertible is given the best chance to be introduced to the market. It is likely to come to the market in a small series with an electric drive.
