Endless delays to Act, petition appears on Change.org: “Appeal to Piedmontese, Ligurians and French”


“Open Tenda Hill, the international communication channel”. It is an online petition launched today (Thursday 7 March), on the Change.org platform, and the mayor of Roccavione Germana Avenawho has always been critical of the Tenda bis project, also following the latest controversy that arose between Anas and the Edilmaco Torino trade union about “objective problems” that would prevent the opening of traffic by June 2024. In all likelihood, we will talk about it again in September, maybe before winter, worst in 2025.

Among other issues that have not been resolved, the lack of an executive project on the change of Valle Roya and the request of the Region to ask for penalties to companies and distribute them to activities damaged by the effects of delays. And again the recent letter from the Monitoring Committee of Tenda bis, which asks Anas and the Government “deep reflection” on the figure of the extraordinary commissioner, engineer Anas Nicola Prisco, appointed “with great authority” in January 2021 by the Government Conte II to speed up and conclude the work after the drama of the storm Alex (2-3 October 2020) which destroyed the Vermenagna Valley and above all, the French side of the construction site in the Roya Valley. There is still no official request to resign, but the rejection of Prisco’s actions is clear and open, “not enough” according to the mayors of the Committee, who also invited him to an “examination of conscience”, while the Region has increased the burden, talking about “serious relationship problems” .

Mayor Germana Avena did not participate in the meeting, and has now opened a petition addressed “to all Piedmontese, Ligurian and French citizens of the Maritime Alps and Paca (Provence, Alpes, Cote d’Azur)”. Four applications, the first is to ensure that the required amount appears in the budget of Italy and France, considering the 70-80 million that are not there to complete the entire work, which also includes the construction of the historic tunnel with a total cost of 330 million, where 255 employees are present. Second: to adopt the executive project of the tunnel, the new bridge, additional works and the boring of the historic tunnel (an intervention that will cost at least 130 million). Third: «submit a work schedule every month» e Anas is also dedicated in this sense, announcing the news on the construction website to follow the activity update in real time, but the latest news on the website www.tunneltenda.it still started on 31 July., the day of the demolition of the last diaphragm in the tunnel between Italy and France. The fourth and last point, about which uncertainty has reigned for months if not years, “communicating the opening of business”.
