GM is halting sales of the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon

Network of sellers General Motors suspended sale of Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon 2024 in North America. In fact, the manufacturer notes that the problem with the software is to prevent cars from hitting the road. GM however confirms that it is working to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

GM has not specified the cause

It’s every day Detroit Free Press who initially reported the news. The media noticed, earlier this week, that several Chevrolet Colorados and GMC Canyons were being assembled in the yard of the GM Wentzville plant. After verification, it was possible to understand that the manufacturer was facing a software problem in its cars.

GM did not provide any information to the media, but according to information collected on various platforms, the problem affects the infotainment system of trucks.

The middle screen, which handles a ton of controls, wouldn’t work. This situation forces the manufacturer to shut down its cars, because the controls necessary for proper operation are hidden in the system. This is where, among other things, it is possible to turn the van’s lights on and off.

Most of the passenger cars are disabled

The sales suspension affects about 15,000 pickup trucks, mainly in the United States, according to GM. The manufacturer did not say how many copies in Canada were affected, but added that the situation affects North America.

According to Brandee Baker, GM’s vice president of Global Technology Communications, the delay is not expected to last long. He said the company has discovered the problem and is starting to work on it.

The manufacturer, however, is still unclear on the matter. The company only clarified that the vehicles had occasional software issues, without providing further details on the situation. Models already shipped to dealers will remain the baseline until GM fixes the problem.
