GMC | Acadia is on the rise


Following a major trend in the industry — no pun intended — the GMC Acadia sees its footprint expand significantly for 2024, leaving behind the slimming treatment that defined its predecessor.


This third generation of the mid-size SUV thus sees its wheelbase increase by 213 mm and its overall length by 269 mm, impressive figures that bring it close to its big brother on the ladder chassis, the GMC Yukon. All this to increase the space left to the third row of seats by 36% and the amount of cargo by 80%, advantages sought in a family car.

The new engine is mated to a standard eight-speed transmission along with all-wheel drive. Its towing capacity also increases to 2267 kg (5000 lb).

This advantage in dimensions is accompanied by a completely new body, but which uses the same stylistic approach. The corners are still there, like this horizontal grille that defines its front presentation. The lamp is enhanced with C-shaped diodes.

Gone is the optional 3.6L V6, which was paired with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. GMC is adding a new 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder under its hood with 328 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque as the only engine offered. of 18 hp and 57 lb-ft compared to the six-cylinder. This new mill is mated to a standard eight-speed manual transmission along with all-wheel drive. Its towing capacity also increases to 2267 kg (5000 lb).

The interior, which has also been completely redesigned, has a large 15-inch vertical touchscreen as standard along with digital instrument cluster and an 11-inch screen. The Acadia can also be equipped with a semi-autonomous Super Cruise operating system.

Production of the 2024 GMC Acadia will begin early next year.
