The original rear wing of Lewis Hamilton’s Formula 1 Mercedes is being released on an Austrian charity platform. A collector’s item is offered to support Austrian sports talent and income.
Austrian Sports Support offers racing enthusiasts the opportunity to access unique and rare performances as part of a special campaign. Formula 1 fans with a well-stocked wallet can bid on part of Lewis Hamilton’s rear wing on his 2020 GP car.
The grand piano is personally signed by Hamilton and started the season in which he won his seventh and most recent title. Presented by Toto Wolff’s Mercedes team, the unique product will be auctioned with an official certificate of authenticity.
Interested parties can register till 10th February date Sports Support Website tender. The highest bid on Sunday afternoon was 10,100 euros. The value is estimated at 50,000 euros. All proceeds from the charity auction will go to support Austrian athletes.
Overall, the Austrian Sports Aid currently supports 263 athletes with individual sponsorship.
The new Formula 1 season kicks off on March 5 with the Bahrain Grand Prix, with three days of pre-season testing also taking place from February 23. The tournament will be rebroadcast on free-to-air television in Austria. As in previous years, ServusTV and ORF share the race and broadcast together at the Spielberg GP in the summer.
