The final dance to retire the Lamborghini Huracan STJ

The final dance to retire the Lamborghini Huracan STJ

Lamborghini will soon end production of its supercar Huracan, but the Italian manufacturer is definitely planning a farewell party. Put together the ultimate special edition, the STJ comes with an aerodynamic add-on designed by the racing folks at Squadra Corse and more efficient.

The Huracan succeeded the Gallardo in 2013 and therefore had a long career. This also involved a lot of clever marketing, with special editions being launched all the time. Real gadgets, which of course always gave a lot of extra money. The original and craziest Huracan was definitely the 2022 Sterrato, which almost looked like a cross between a sports car and an off-roader. So now there is STJ, an abbreviation that stands for Super Trofeo Jota. For those of you who want to know everything, the last part of that extra name refers to appendix J of the FIA specifications for racing cars. In the past there were also Jota versions of the Aventador and even a Miura photo intended (mainly) for the track.

An additional trap

With Lamborghini you can never be so sure, but it looks like the STJ is the ultimate ‘special’ Huracan. In any case, the Italians themselves are also talking about his last dance. The car is based on the 2020 race-inspired STO, with its bodywork featuring large spoilers and other wind deflectors, the STJ also hints at the brand’s activities on the circuit. The aerodynamic package was developed by the experts at Lamborghini Squadra Corse, who provided, among other things, a spoiler that produces an excess of 10 percent more than that of the already very efficient STO. At the front, two small wings in front of the wheels provide additional grip.

Only 10 copies

With the STJ, Lamborghini is also saying goodbye to the famous V10, the engine we also got to know in the Audi R8. In this latest version of the Huracan it produces 645 hp and 565 Nm, which power goes to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission (one). The car has four-position adjustable shock absorbers and rests on Bridgestone Potenz Race rubber wheels around 20-inch rims. With lug nuts, just like in the race. Only ten copies of the STJ will be built, all of which have already been ordered. Now we have to wait for the successor to the Huracan, which will arrive at the end of this year with a plug-in hybrid drive and therefore probably a somewhat ‘smaller’ combustion engine.
