Lamborghini 350 GT back in ‘Geneva’ after 60 years

Cars and Geneva. Is there a better combination? Hendrik Johannes Cruijff and Diego Armando Maradona watching football together in the stands maybe?

We doubt it … Because when a four-wheel drive arrives in Geneva, there is always a story behind it. And now we have another one for you: the Lamborghini 350 GT from ’64 is back on Swiss soil after 60 years.

After 60 years ‘Return to Geneva’: Lamborghini 350 GT

By parking it there after half a century and ten years, Automobili Lamborghini celebrates the first production example of this beauty. At that time it was launched by the great Ferruccio Lamborghini himself.

Still in the baby seat in ’64

The main thing is: at that time the Italian car brand still had a child seat. As legendary as it is now, it was ‘small’ then. The Lambo had only been around for a few months in March 1964. In October 1963 the first example was presented, known as the 350 GTV, designed by Franco Scaglione and built at Carrozzeria Sargiotto in Turin.

Le-gen-darish

Well, the production car, the Lamborghini 350 GT, arrived in March. Now we are 60 years later, but it is still finger-licking good. The Italians confirm this with an amazing series of photos of the version with chassis number 2 in Geneva. It has a 3.5L V12 engine, designed by the legendary Giotto Bizzarrini, and was the symbol of the beginning of Lamborghini’s commercial success. But that’s not all: the 350 GT immediately set a new standard in the sports car world. With its aluminum bodywork and high-quality interior, with leather and chrome, the (quick) painting on the wheels was fashionable. The engine in the 350 GT was Lamborghini’s step up to the 4L V-12 that came in the 400 GT. And well, everyone knows how that turned out…

Well now, it’s picture time, right? This GT 350, with its metallic gray paint and red interior, has survived all these years. And see what images it produces:
